Automated UT
AUT has largely replaced Radiography on pipeline inspections.
The main selling point is that AUT has not so much reduced the risk, as eliminated the Radiation Hazard completely. LNG tanks are particularly suited to AUT. SAIS Ltd now applies the same know-how, combined with the experience gained in automated systems for pipeline girth weld testing, to high speed AUT of welds in 9% Nickel steel LNG tanks.
